high activity level - short attention span - uncontrolled enthusiasm - housesoiling problems - pecking order (the whos in charge issue) - meddling - attention demanding behavior - beginning ownership issues

LESSON - PAY ATTENTION AND REMEMBER
Buddy began habit reversal to lower his activity level and lengthen his attention span. Upon Buddy's entry into camp, he had to begin remembering to sit and behave rather that run and jump or run and grab or just run. He is working toward automatically sitting and waiting upon approach. He also began learning to walk nicely on a leash and to pay attention to his human.

Through video monitoring here at camp Buddy's behavior can be watched and worked with all the time. The below video illustrates the camp observation system to carefully monitor Buddy's activity level and work with him to transpose his attention demanding behavior into self entertainment and patiently waiting.

LESSON - NO OUTSIDE IN THE HOUSE
As illustrated in his video to the right - Buddy is learning to "hold it" till he goes outside. Starting at several hours he is working on associating his "good boy" with not making a mistake inside and his "good boy" with going potty outside. This will soon be including an applied correction when he forgets.
Buddy's video to the left, shows him working very hard to focus his attention and remember to hold his sit behavior for longer and longer periods of time. He is also learning NOT to forget his lessons when told he is a good boy.

Buddy meets Marnie
His first meeting with Marnie was a little overwhelming for the boy but his second playdate was much better - Buddy's confidence is growing all the time.

Buddy is being exposed to a number of other dogs in a controlled environment and is learning to "mind his own business".and not react aggressively but to walk right past, paying attention to his human.

He is also learning not to react aggressively toward giving up any bones, toys or other object that his human allows him to play with - in other words, he is learning that HE DOESN'T OWN ANYTHING .

DAY 15 THRU 22
Buddy met a new friend near the end of his third week and had to practice his "Behave" and "mind your own business" lessons. When first seeing Luke, Buddy sort of lost all of his little mind BUT very quickly he had to remember to apply his new habit re-direction and interact nicely - He did an excellent job.

When Luke came in, he immediately began chewing on one of Buddy's rawhide bones. The two photos to the left are of Buddy's first reaction to sharing.

It didn't take very long for Buddy to learn how to wait patiently to achieve his goals.

and taking it when presented.

The photos to the right show Buddy working on his plan of obtaining the big bone that Luke is chewing on.
