4th day in camp for tanner

All Tanner's lessons are focused on teaching him to pay attention, remember, behave, be still, and think about what he is doing.

and no talking back

Good eating habits / closely associated with good health
so here at camp eating all his dinner when it is put in front of Tanner is part of camp teaching
You can just bet that there is no
FREE FEEDING
or
SCATTER FEEDING
here. Tanner is encouraged to clean his bowl - (a metal bowl at that)

When meeting other kids, Tanner is learning not to grab or try to overpower his new friend - ie - he must play nice or he cannot play. Beginning with one buddy, we will work our way up to multiple friends.

Tanner is just the handsomest little guy
the video below is the first one taken with him learning to walk at my side and not jump, jerk, leap, pull or grab his leash - he must sit before we begin and sit at the finish. Please excuse the lighting and such on this video - we were walking through different, confusing conditions.

overcoming the "cute" factor
- cute does not good behavior create -

Learning to spend "quiet time" on his dogsetter (his own space) when mom is at work and grammie is taking care of him - entertaining himself by playing quietly while waiting patiently.

Tanner is working on his "no grabbing and let others have their toys" lessons while minding his own business.

4th week in camp

Tanner continues to practice his lessons in meeting new friends when he met Mikey

Trying to keep Tanner's toys near him is a challenge - so we tried "baby bumpers"
Tanner is doing very well on his "mind your own business" and "pay attention and behave" lessons. He will be going to his Dr's appointment next week and that will be a really hard test for the boy.

Tanner worked and worked, coaxed, tempted and did everything he could think of to get Hannah, his camp bud and learning partner, to play with him but she kept saying no.

Tanner is relentless and finally broke down Hannah's defenses with his invites to play - she just gives it all up.

Hanna has helped Tanner start to think about his behavior toward others and Tanner has helped Hanna become more social and outgoing.

Tanner's lesson is to remember if he plays he has to to play quietly and nicely.
Tanner has to remember to use his INDOOR VOICE

Teaching Tanner to trust his crate
by putting all the toys way in the back
as well as feeding him in his crate

And before you know it, Tanner is in his crate.
It didn't take long before he quit thinking about the crate
and began focusing on his toys just like a big boy.
